In 1983, when I was 20, my father Urban Prescott moved to Kansas and started his own roofing company Solid Rock Services. At the time, Kansas City was a rapidly growing and thriving city, and it was an exciting time to join my father and be a part of that development.

A few years later, the Royals won the World Series, meanwhile my father was laboring to make Solid Rock Services a first class roofing company. His dream was to not only master the roofing aspect of the business, but branch out into offering other services by networking with other service professionals. Unfortunately, that dream never quite became a reality.

In 1996 my dad became unexpectedly ill and was hospitalized for a lengthy stay. During that time, I and my brother Mark decided to help him out by running Solid Rock Services for him. It was then that we found out just how many homeowners were looking for new gutters to go along with their new roofs, and we branched out. After several months, my dad regained his strength and we turned Solid Rock Services back over to his capable hands.

I made the decision to continue guttering under a separate name—thus In2GutRs was born. For many years my wife Laurie and my brother Joe dedicated themselves to working with me. We were a guttering force to be reckoned with! As time went on both my wife and my brother found employment elsewhere. At that time my dad asked me to transition back into roofing, and as I was struggling to find employees that held themselves to the same high standard for quality and integrity in work ethic, I accepted.

In March of 2015, my house caught on fire due to our wood-burning stove in our basement. My son, Jonah, left his job as a food server and came to help us rebuild, and also to help market the business. We, along with the help of a few professionals spent the year re-building the house to our liking, and have now been able to transition back fully into building In2GutRs into a dominant local roofing and guttering business in the Kansas City area.

Over the past few decades I have learned a lot about providing high quality guttering, and roofing services to the residents of the Kansas City Metro, and garnering a reputation for high quality work, and exceptional customer service. This is proven both in my longevity as a business, and the testimonials of my past customers.
